Emergency Escape-way

Design, manufacture and equipping of a 60m near-vertical emergency escape-way.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of floors at landings.
  • Drilling and installation of chemical suspension anchors for mounting of escape-way staircase and pipe columns.
  • Structural work at heights – lifting and lowering of structural steel to install staircase and piping in steeply inclined (80°) excavation.
  • Installation of LT electrical cabling and lighting.
 

Underground Trackless Equipment Service and Repair Bay

Design, manufacture and construction of an underground service bay.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of floors, service well, crawl gantry plinths, storage areas and an oil separation system.
  • Structural erection of crawl gantries and storage areas.
  • Mechanical installation of gantry crawls, Drizit unit and pumps for grease and oil waste handling.
  • Electrical installation of small power and lighting.
 

Chrome Plant Construction

Manufacture, supply and construction of a Chrome Extraction facility.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of the building plinths, floors and bunds.
  • All structural flooring, hand railing and staircase manufacturing and erecting.
  • IBR roof cladding.
 

Industrial Change House

Design, manufacture, supply, and construction of an industrial change house.

This includes:

  • Earthworks and terrace preparation.
  • Civil construction of foundations.
  • Building work, complete with plumbing, electricals etc.
  • Structural erection of columns and roof trusses.
  •  Roof IBR cladding.
 

Surface Fan Installation

Design, manufacture and supply, construction and installation of surface ventilation fans.

This includes:

  • Manufacture of "shaft-to-fan" ducting.
  •  Installation of ventilation ducting.
  • Installation of four 75kW fans.
  • Installation of electrical power supply.
 

Explosives Transfer Facility

Design, manufacture and construction of an explosives transfer and storage area facility at a shaft head.

This includes:

  • Bulk earthworks and preparation of terrace.
  • Installation of lightning arrestor grid.
  • Civil construction of concrete floors, column plinths and explosives storage tank bases.
  • Structural erection of roof columns, trusses and IBR cladding.
  • Electrical installation of small power and lighting.
 

Automated Diesel Batching System

Design, manufacture and construction of an automated Diesel batching system for the transfer of Diesel from surface to the underground Diesel dispensing facility.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of floors, tank bases and bund walls on surface as well as the provision of pressure breaks at pre-determined vertical intervals.
  • Structural erection and installation of storage, batching and receiver tanks.
  • Installation of piping on surface and down vertical shaft.
  •  Installation of all pumping systems.
  • Installation of control and automation instrumentation.
 

Temporary Workshop/Service Facility at a Decline Project

Design, manufacture and construction of temporary surface workshop facilities.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of concrete floors, column plinths and crawl gantry plinths.
  • Structural erection of crawl gantries, roof columns, trusses and IBR roof cladding.
  •  Mechanical installation of gantry crawls.
  • Electrical installation of small power and lighting.
 

Surface Diesel Storage and Dispensing Facility

Design, Supply and construction of Diesel storage and dispensing facilities on surface.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of floors, tank bases and bund walls.
  • Structural installation of 23kL storage tank.
  • Installation of Drizit trap for contaminated water handling.
  •  Installation of pumps and piping.
  •  Installation of level and metering instrumentation.
  • Installation of power supply and lighting.
 

Hartbeespoort Dam Aerial Cableway.

Zinpro Engineering was involved in a consultative role with the upgrade of the Hartbeespoort Dam Aerial Cableway.

This includes:

  • Upgrade of the original cableway, built and commissioned in 1972, to comply with the latest requirements of the Manufacturer’s Standard and to resolve issues that historically proved problematic.
   

Loading Level

Design, manufacture and installation of 3 loading stations and a conveyor belt to feed reef and waste rock onto a vertical shaft skip feeding conveyor.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of plinths, floors and ore pass throats
  • Structural erection of loading stations and conveyor belt stringer sections.
  • Mechanical installation of loading station chutes, vibrating feeders and conveyor drives.
  • All electrical and instrumentation installation.
  • Belt automation (PLC & SCADA) and fire suppression.


Tippler Conveyor

Design, manufacture and installation of decline to loading level transfer tower, loading conveyor belt and silo tipping devices into the material handling silos, which in turn feeds into the loading level infrastructure.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of plinths, floors and structural covering of reef and waste silos.
  • Structural erecting of loading stations and conveyor belt stringer sections.
  • Mechanical installation of loading station chutes, vibrating feeders and conveyor drives.
  • Provision of power supply and installation of instrumentation.
  • Belt automation (PLC & SCADA) and fire suppression.


Mobile Pump Stations (for dirty water handling)

Design, Manufacture and Supply of mobile pump stations for immediate flexibility in water handling.

 This includes:

  • “Mini” 11kW mobile pump station for the delivery of water at low heads - 10L/second.
  • “Maxi” 110kW mobile pump station - 46L/second unit used with 80m to 90m manometric head for vertical handling of water.
  • Both facilities are designed for dirty water pumping, whist being self cleaning.


Pump Station and Dam

Design, manufacture and construction of dams and pumping systems for water handling.

 This includes:

  • Civil construction of dam walls, floors, pump plinths and cast-in piping and spool pieces.
  • Structural erection of gantry structures to facilitate servicing of heavy duty pumps and motors.
  • Mechanical installation of pumps, motors and associated piping.
  • Provision of power supply.
  • Installation of instrumentation for level control and automation.


 45° Pipe way

Design and equipping of a raise bored pipe way between a decline and the level above.

 This includes:

  • Civil construction of floors at landings.
  • Drilling and installation of chemical suspension anchors for mounting of pipe way staircase and pipe columns.
  • Structural work at heights – lifting and lowering of oversize structural steel to install staircase and piping in steeply inclined (45°) excavation.
  • Installation of LT electrical cabling and lighting.


Underground MCC

Design, manufacture and installation of MCC’s, PLC’s and mini-sub transformers to supply electrical power and instrumentation to the loading level conveyor belt, skip loading belt and loading station.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of plinths, floors and walls.
  • Structural installation of equipment mounting frames and fixtures.
  • Mechanical installation of pressurization fans.
  • Installation of mini-sub transformers, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) electrical cabling and associated cable racking.
  • Fibre-optic network installations


Truck Tipping Facilities

Design, manufacture and installation of underground truck tipping station.

This includes:

  • Civil construction of tip walls, backfilling, floors and rock breaker   plinth.
  • Structural erection of tip walls and installation of grizzly.
  • Mechanical installation of (2100 Joule) rock breaker.
  • Electrical supply of small power and lighting.


Surface Infrastructure

Design, supply and construction of surface rail networks.

This includes:

  • Bulk earthworks and leveling of the terrace.
  • Installation of rail layout.
  • Construction of storm water drainage and run off systems.


Underground Piping Installation

Design, manufacture and installation of services reticulation, including piping in an underground decline shaft.

This includes:

  • Drilling of bracket suspension holes.
  • Installation of pipe support brackets.
  • Installation of pipe columns of various diameters for services.
  • Installation of electrical cable racking onto pipe support brackets.


Decline Conveyors

Design, manufacture and installation of conveyor belts and level-to-decline loading stations for materials handling infrastructure.

 This includes:

  • Drilling and installation of anchor suspension for hanging wall mounted conveyor belt structures.
  • Civil construction of drive and take-up installations, loading station plinths and floors, loading station ore pass throats and conveyor tail sections.
  • Structural installation of suspended conveyor belt stringer sections, loading stations, drive and take-up sections.
  • Mechanical installation of conveyor drive and take-up units, loading station vibrator feeders and transfer sections.
  • Electrical installation of power supply and reticulation.
  • Installation of instrumentation for conveyor belt control, safety and warning devices.
